Year 7 Team

Mrs H Stratton

Hello / Bonjour!

I’m Mrs Stratton and I am Head of French and Head of Year 7.  I have taught languages for over 20 years and I am really looking forward to teaching you all again this year at DMS!

When I’m not in school, I enjoy watching world cinema, catching up with most comedy shows, as well as discovering new walks along the Thames with my 2 children.

Mrs K Patel

I am the subject lead for KS3 Maths; I oversee homework across DMS and I am also a Year 7 tutor.  I teach maths in KS3 and a KS2 class.  I also help out at Basketball Club for KS3.  Prior to teaching maths, I worked in the investment banking industry.   When I am not in school I love to cook especially if I have discovered a new ingredient or dish; I help out at the allotment and enjoy reading.  I look forward to meeting you as you continue your mathematical journey where everybody counts.

Mr A Imbastari

I am a teacher of mathematics at DMS and teach students both at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 2. I joined DMS at the beginning of 2020 and have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent at the school thus far. A lot of the children know me as Mr I as my surname is quite long! Whilst at the school as well as teaching maths I have helped Mr Lewis in football by refereeing football matches or providing opportunities for the DMS football teams to play matches. Outside of school I volunteer with schools’ football at both district and county level. I help provide local schools’ football tournaments for both boys and girls school teams. I also manage the local school primary and secondary district team in which some DMS children have managed to be selected for due to their aptitude and attitude. When I am away from school and football, I love spending time with my family, home cooking, gardening and practicing yoga. I look forward to seeing you at DMS and working together to be the very best we can be.

Mrs L Crowe

I am a teaching assistant in Year 7. This is my third year at Dedworth Middle. After school I like to spend time with my family, visiting galleries and exercising. Can’t wait to meet you all!

Mr S Curtis

I am Simon Curtis and I have just joined Dedworth Middle School as an English teacher for years seven and eight. I recently relocated from Amsterdam where I was teaching English Language and Literature in an English international school. Before that, I taught in a number of independent and state schools in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have a wife and son and hail from Somerset, where most of my family still live. I am a huge fan of reading and multimedia and I look forward to guiding Dedworth students in their love of learning, especially when it comes to the wonders and revelations that can be found in books. It is my task to help you find the answers to so many questions. An ability to read, write and speak well is massively empowering and is an investment that will enrich one's life immeasurably.

Miss K Perchard

I will be teaching PE across the years as well as Year 7 PSHE and I’m a Year 7 tutor. You’ll find me either in the gym or netball courts at lunch and after school taking extra- curricular activities.  I love gymnastics and dance and normally am preparing children for the big gym and dance show at Windsor Boys School.  I enjoy most sports and in my spare time out of school, play netball in a league and fitness classes at the gym.  I look forward to starting a new academic year and seeing as many of you as possible at extra- curricular clubs.

Mr M Smallbone

I'm Matt, and I'm super excited to embark on my journey at Dedworth Middle School as a trainee teacher in the subject I am so passionate about, Geography. Having recently graduated with a degree in the subject I am now ready, and buzzing about the opportunity to be able to share my passion for the subject with DMS's pupils and learn how I can hone their interest and drive for the subject. My passions outside of the classroom include music, art and reading.

Mr E O’Donnell

I am the Pastoral leader at Dedworth Middle School. I teach History and Geography to Year 7 and 8 pupils. I mainly teach my lessons in Jubilee 1. When I can I like to watch the school sports teams and referee Football matches.

At lunchtimes and breaktimes I can be found in the PLC or on the playgrounds. I am more than happy for you to come and find me if you have a problem or a worry.

When I’m not at school I enjoy playing golf, watching a wide range of sports and spending time with my family.

I’m looking forward to welcoming all pupils back to school and meeting all of the new Year 5 starters.

Miss P Dhariwal

Hello pupils and parents of DMS! I am Miss Dhariwal and I recently joined the school in November 2020 as a KS3 English teacher. I have spent the last few years of my career working in a large secondary school in West London but I am thoroughly enjoying the change of working with Year 7 & 8 and joining the wonderful Dedworth community! Naturally, I love teaching English and watching my students grow in confidence with their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills! I find working with young people so enjoyable and hope that all pupils feel that they can approach for me anything  - I am always happy to help! In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, reading and all things Harry Potter and Disney!

Mrs S Oakley
