Masters

Mrs C Masters

I am Head of Year 8 and the Head of Science. I teach Science to pupils in KS3 and also enjoy seeing the exciting scientific activities KS2 take part in. You will usually find me in one of the labs in the Tech Block, either teaching or setting up experiments for pupils. I like pupils to have opportunities outside school and arranged for Year 8 pupil to take part in STEM projects and competitions over the past couple of years. When I’m not in school I enjoy swimming, especially open water swimming when the weather’s not too cold!

Taylor

Mr J Taylor

Hello. My name is Mr Taylor and I am head of the Computing department. I have been at Dedworth Middle School since 2005. In that time there has been many changes in the world of Computing and I am constantly improving the activities and resources to keep up with the changing technologies. I am making sure that all pupils can experience many styles of coding from creating web pages to creating dynamic playable games. My hobbies, which include coding, also include building from garden furniture to cabinets and running events such as quiz nights and discos. These are all skills which are utilized when the school puts on major theatrical productions. I walk about 50km a week walking my dogs and playing Pokemon Go and when time allows, I practise playing guitar and singing much to the annoyance of my family.

Raz

Miss L Raz

My full name is Miss Rasarathnam, however I am known as Miss Raz as it is much easier to say. I am Head of Design and Technology, I also teach Art and have taught Maths here in the past. I am a Basketball coach and do lot of extra curricular basketball clubs across the whole year. You can often find me in the workshop, the kitchen or in the sports hall... or in the playground at break or lunch, especially when the sun is shining! When I am not at school I enjoy playing basketball, I really enjoy designing and making things weather it be from wood, fabric or food! I thoroughly look forward to teaching you some of those making skills

My outside interests include reading and I am a member of a local Windsor book group.

Pearce

Mr S Pearce

Hello! I am Mr. Pearce and I am the Lead for KS3 English. I’ll be teaching Year 7 and 8 English lessons and working with the rest of the English team to make the Y7 and 8 English curriculum exciting, engaging and one that will make them the best readers and authors possible. I have high expectations of the pupils at Dedworth Middle and I will work my hardest to ensure each and every pupil in KS3 finds their English lessons fun and ones that they feel they can succeed in. I have been an English teacher for over ten years and love reading anything and everything from historical fiction to blogs and poetry. In my spare time, I love spending time with my wife and two girls as well as trying my hand at baking – I make a killer salted caramel cupcake!

Lewis

Mr M Lewis

I am the head of PE and will be teaching across all year groups, I am also a year 8 tutor. During lunchtime you will find me either on the field or in the sports-hall running clubs. I enjoy all sports but particularly like teaching football and athletics. I support Leicester City FC and my best memory is when Leicester won the Premiership in 2015/16. Outside of school I am either watching my local rugby team or transporting my daughters to their swimming and gymnastics lessons. I look forward to meeting you all and hope to see many of you at a club.

Swift

Miss M Swift

I will be teaching PE to Key Stage 2 and 3 this year and PSHE to the Year 8’s; I am also a Year 8 tutor. During lunchtimes and afterschool you are most likely to find me in the gym or netball courts running extra-curricular activities. I enjoy participating in sports myself; outside of school I am a member of hockey club, I play for different netball teams and I horse ride. I look forward to starting a new year at DMS and seeing you all back in school.

Shaw

Mr J Shaw

I’m the new Head of Music at Dedworth Middle School. I have recently moved back to London after spending 3 years in Hertfordshire as Head of Music at Berkhamsted School. I work part time for DMS, and you will find me in school on Mondays and Tuesdays teaching Year 7 and 8 classes. I’m hoping to start some music clubs and create more opportunities for us to sing and play music together. Alongside my role at the school, I will be teaching key stage 2 music lessons in two London boroughs.

I am passionate about singing together and the power this has to form and express a sense of our community. This has led me to establish a singing charity called Sing Inside, which I help to run in my spare time. I also play saxophone for London Gay Big Band, and sing with the London based choir ‘The Collective’.

Outside of Music, I love seeing theatre, and I am a keen cyclist and rower – I’m very excited about getting back rowing on the Thames!
