Welcome

Welcome to our School

We would like to offer you and your children a warm and sincere welcome to Dedworth Middle School. Our aim is for every child to develop his or her potential to the full in a secure and happy environment. The programme of studies offered at Dedworth Middle School will present challenges and opportunities for all our children, in and outside the classroom. We want children to go home at the end of the day buzzing with ideas and further questions.

Headteacher's Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

On behalf of Windsor Learning Partnership, governors and staff, I would like to welcome you and your child to Dedworth Middle School. My priority as Headteacher is to ensure Dedworth Middle School continues to aim to become an outstanding school where every child can achieve their full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical and moral development. Our focus is all about enabling children to ACHIEVE – to learn and make progress experiencing the highest quality teaching and learning within a happy, safe and secure environment. Happiness at school will lead to good progress and attainment and this is paramount to my vision. We are on an amazing journey which was validated both by Ofsted in July and Challenge Partners a few weeks ago, so I feel privileged to lead such an amazing team and am delighted you are coming to join our wonderful school that I feel so passionate about.

At Dedworth Middle School, we believe in building excellent relationships with all our stakeholders and are always committed to high standards. Rest assured I will work tirelessly with all the staff a d pupils, and the proficient support of Windsor Learning Partnership, to ensure the school flourishes despite the many challenges ahead, not least the Government’s endless changes to what is expected of schools. It is imperative we work together to make OUR school serve the needs of OUR Dedworth community and OUR young people and I hope that as many of you will get involved in the life of the school as possible. Only by working together can we make sure your sons and daughters enjoy school and develop the necessary skills and knowledge they need to build successful,
happy lives. Let’s hope this year we will be able to do even more together after the turbulent few years post pandemic.

Whether you are visiting Dedworth Campus for the first time or returning, I trust you will see that we have built on an established culture of aiming high, and always going the extra mile. Whilst we are very proud of our recent Ofsted GOOD outcome, some of our excellent and outstanding practices, and our continuing improving high attainment results, we know that reports and results are only part of the story. We use updated guidance, inspection
and monitoring reports to plan ahead and focus on what we need to improve: we are committed to honestly and proactively addressing any development areas and therefore driving the school onto bigger and better things. Dedworth enjoys some excellent facilities, including a new build with large modern classrooms; The Achieve Centre; a brand-new Computer Suite with modern computers; state of the art interactive smartboards in every
classroom across the school; recently tarmacked playground and courts as well as a fantastic 4G Astroturf that the pupils make very good use of! We host a huge array of super curriculum sports and activities after school as well as promote an innovative broad and balanced curriculum with an established, superb team of enthusiastic and passionate staff to educate and care for your child. There are still a few places around the school that look tired and need modernizing and we have a busy plan to get through all this to help us brighten our school. We understand that people and ethos make a school, not buildings, and in a rapidly-changing world we feel privileged to be given the opportunity to educate your child. I am sure they will achieve well and be very happy here.

On joining Dedworth Middle School, your child will be “signing up” to our three school expectations (Be Kind; Be Safe; Be Ready) and our ambitious aims. In return, you and your child can expect our dedication, professionalism, expertise and imagination. I believe that a major part of your child’s success relies upon our partnership with you, so we strongly encourage parents to be part of this journey. If this sounds like what you and your child are looking for, we really look forward to working closely with you.

With very best wishes,
Mrs Nicola Chandler
Executive Headteacher of Dedworth Campus
