Mr T Openshaw - Year 6 Form Tutor

Hello, I am Mr Openshaw and I am one of the year 6 form tutors. I teach Maths, English, Science, Humanities and, as of recently, PE! I studied a joint degree in Education Studies and Sports Education and enjoyed the experience of coaching football in Texas, U.S.A. I live my wife (Mrs Openshaw , who is also a teacher)  and our two year old daughter, Gabriella! Outside of the classroom, I enjoy boxing, going to the gym, running, reading and taking Gabby to the park. You can find me in room E – bring your best behaviour: I like a calm classroom!

Mrs K Patel - Year 6 Tutor & Head of Maths

I am the subject lead for KS3 Maths and I am also a Year 6 tutor.  I teach maths in KS3 and a KS2 class. Prior to teaching maths, I worked in the investment banking industry.   When I am not in school I love to cook especially if I have discovered a new ingredient or dish; I help out at the allotment and enjoy reading.  I look forward to meeting you as you continue your mathematical journey where everybody counts. 

Mr M Lewis - Year 6 Form Tutor/ P.E.

I am the head of PE and I teach across all year groups. During lunchtime you will find me either on the field or in the sports-hall running clubs. I enjoy all sports but particularly like teaching football and athletics. I support Leicester City FC and my best memory is when Leicester won the Premiership in 2015/16. Outside of school I am either watching my local rugby team or transporting my daughters to their swimming and gymnastics lessons. I look forward to meeting you all and hope to see many of you at a club. 

Miss S Adisi - Year 6 Form Tutor/ Head of English

Hello! My name is Miss Adisi and I am the Head of English – with my specialism being English. Prior to moving into the area, I worked in a middle school in Beijing teaching English as a Foreign Language before teaching at a secondary school in Southwest London. This year, I am also a Year 6 tutor. Outside of school, I like watching plays/musicals at the theatre and getting cozy with a good book. I have a ton of recommendations if you’re ever stuck with where to start!

Miss B Labonte - Year 7 Form Tutor / Head of Humanities

Hello! I am Miss Labonte, and I am 6BL’s form tutor this year. I am originally from Canada, but after university I made the UK my home. I am a History specialist and now Head of Humanities, and my goal is to equip all students at Dedworth with the skills to make sense of the world around us and our place within it. Outside of school, I am a HUGE reader; so far in 2025 I’ve read 87 books, and I’m aiming to reach at least 95 by Christmas! If you’re an avid reader—or looking to become one—come find me in Room D to chat about all things books. I’m also a passionate runner, and I love sharing this with Dedworth students at our weekly cross-country club. Most Sundays, you’ll find me racing a 10 km or half-marathon, and this school year I’ll be taking on my biggest challenge yet: my first full marathon in Edinburgh this May. Finally, I’d love for students to join me at our brand-new History Society, launching after October half-term. Perseverance and aiming high are values I live by, and I hope to inspire my students to do the same.
