Mr S Pearce - Year 6 Form Tutor/ Head of English

Hello! I am Mr. Pearce and I am the Head of English at Dedworth Middle School and I have the exciting and happy job of inspiring pupils adoring all, things written and read! I’ll be teaching Year 6 and 7 English lessons and working with the rest of the English team to make every year group’s English curriculum thrilling, engaging and one that will make them the best readers and authors possible. I have high expectations of the pupils at Dedworth Middle and I will work my hardest to ensure each and every pupil in our school finds their English lessons fun and ones that they feel they can succeed in. I have been an English teacher for over ten years and love reading anything and everything from historical fiction to blogs and poetry. In my spare time, I love spending time with my wife and children as well as trying my hand at baking – I make a killer salted caramel cupcake! 

Mr J Edwards - Year 6 Form Tutor

Hello! I am Mr Edwards and I am a year 6 teacher. I joined Dedworth in 2020 as a Catch-up Tutor and then continued at the school as a trainee teacher. Having worked as a year 5 teacher the previous two years, I am excited about now working in year 6 and am also looking forward to my new role as Deputy Head of English.

Outside of school I love to take part in as much sport as possible. Recently, I’ve completed two half marathons and a triathlon and will be doing another half marathon this year. On the weekends, you will also find me playing for Windsor Hockey Club. As well as that, I play tennis, squash, golf and football.

Mr T Openshaw - Year 6 Form Tutor

Hello, I am Mr Openshaw and I am one of the year 6 teachers. I studied a joint degree in Education Studies and Sports Education and enjoyed the experience of coaching football in Texas, U.S.A. I love my job as a teacher and love to acquire new knowledge. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy boxing, going to the gym, running and reading. You can find me in room E!

Miss B Labonte - Year 6 Form Tutor

Hello! I am Miss Labonte, and I am 6BL's new form tutor. I am originally from Canada, but after university, I made the UK my home. I am a history specialist but love all things humanities-based. My goal as a humanities specialist is to equip all students at Dedworth with the skills to make sense of the world around us and our place within it. Stay tuned for a history club I am looking to launch this term!

Outside of school, I am a HUGE reader; in 2024, I read 84 books! If you’re an avid reader or looking to become one, come find me in Room D to discuss all things reading. I am also a passionate runner who, on more Sundays than not, can be found completing a 10 km or a half-marathon race to add to my medal collection.
