History
As outlined in the department overview, the test will largely focus on the Suffragettes, with a small reference to the start of our First World War unit.
An in‑class revision lesson will take place before half‑term to support pupils with their preparation. Details of when the exam will take place for each group will be shared shortly by Mr Moult. During this revision lesson, pupils will be given a revision clock, which they can use to support their independent revision over the May half‑term break.
Test content and structure
The assessment will include the following sections:
Multiple choice questions
These will be a mix of Suffragettes and the start of the WW1 unit (up to Lesson 4, including life in a trench), with a heavier focus on the Suffragettes.Vocabulary (matching)
Vocabulary will be assessed through matching questions, again with a heavier focus on the Suffragettes and content from WW1 up to Lesson 4.Describe one feature (2 questions)
1 question on the Suffragettes
1 question on WW1
Give two things you can infer
1 question focusing on the Suffragettes
Explain why
1 question on the Suffragettes
Pupils have already been informed about this question type and may choose to work on it independently over the half‑term break. Full preparation will also take place in the first History lesson of transfer week.
Revision materials
Pupils should consult the knowledge mats for both topics, which are attached to this email.
I have also re‑attached the question technique lesson from the start of the academic year, which pupils should use to support their responses.
