Mr J Edwards - Year 5 Form Tutor

After spending last year as a trainee teacher, I am now excited to take on my own class! Having done geography at university, my favourite subject to teach is Humanities which I do for all year 5 classes. Outside the classroom I enjoy running, playing tennis and hockey, and reading.

Hello, I am Mr Openshaw and I am one of the year 5 teachers. I studied a joint degree in Education Studies and Sports Education and enjoyed the experience of coaching football in Texas, U.S.A. I love my job as a teacher and love to acquire new knowledge. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy boxing, going to the gym, running and reading. You can find me in room 11!

Hello, I’m Mrs Farr,

I’m a KS2 and KS3 English teacher, Year 5 Form Tutor and Catch-Up Tuition Tutor.

Throughout my teaching career, I have always worked hard to ensure all pupils feel more able and confident in their reading and writing abilities. My goal for every pupil is that they are they are equipped with the tools they need to be the best authors and writers they can be!

I enjoy reading, spending time with my friends and family and walking my dog!

Hi, my name is Miss Neelam Shaffa I am a learning support assistant at DMS. I help and support children in their learning in all subjects. My favourite subjects are Maths and Art, I enjoy drawing and being creative.

In my spare time I like to go to the gym, shopping and spending quality time with friends and family.

I work as a Teaching Assistant and in the school office. I am a level three first aider so you will see me tending to injuries near Reception and looking after you all. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
