Mr J Edwards - Year 6 Form Tutor / Head of English

Hello! I am Mr Edwards and I am a Year 6 teacher.
I joined Dedworth in 2020 as a Catch-up Tutor and then continued at the school as a trainee teacher. After teaching in Year 5 for two years, I then moved into Year 6 – where I taught last year – and I’m thrilled to be continuing in this year group. I’m also proud to be the Head of English, a role I’m incredibly passionate about.
Outside of school, I love to read as well as take part in as much sport as possible. In the past, I’ve completed two half marathons and a triathlon, and this year I’ll be taking on my first full marathon. I regularly play tennis, squash, golf, football, and hockey. Any issues, please come and find me in Room F!

Mr T Openshaw - Year 6 Form Tutor

Hello, I am Mr Openshaw and I am one of the year 6 form tutors. I teach Maths, English, Science, Humanities and, as of recently, PE! I studied a joint degree in Education Studies and Sports Education and enjoyed the experience of coaching football in Texas, U.S.A. I live my wife (Mrs Openshaw , who is also a teacher)  and our two year old daughter, Gabriella! Outside of the classroom, I enjoy boxing, going to the gym, running, reading and taking Gabby to the park. You can find me in room E – bring your best behaviour: I like a calm classroom!

Mrs K Patel - Year 6 Tutor & Head of Maths

I am the subject lead for KS3 Maths and I am also a Year 6 tutor.  I teach maths in KS3 and a KS2 class. Prior to teaching maths, I worked in the investment banking industry.   When I am not in school I love to cook especially if I have discovered a new ingredient or dish; I help out at the allotment and enjoy reading.  I look forward to meeting you as you continue your mathematical journey where everybody counts. 

Mrs C Oakley - Year 6 form tutor & Art teacher
Hello, I am Mrs Oakley!! I am the form tutor for 6CO and teach year 7 and 8 Art and RE. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading and creating artwork! I also love to bake and crochet! I am so excited to be a part of your creative educational journey! Come find me in Lab 2 for a chat and a warm welcome!
